Location

The village of Guimerà was declared a historic-artistic site in 1975. The true charm of Guimerà lies in its medieval town center, a maze of streets climbing up towards the Church of Santa Maria or the Watchtower, creating a unique play of architectural forms. You will see many arches, roofs, stairways... all very well preserved.

The streets in the lower part of the village are crossed by walkways. These are passages that connect houses on either side of the street. The houses have an entrance on one street and another exit at a higher level through the attics.

Walking through the streets of Guimerà, its stone houses with decorative details on doors, windows, and arches make you relive distant times. You will travel back in time to the 10th century: walking, stopping, and observing.
